About us

Welcome to Broadway Children's School of Oakland

Broadway Children’s School of Oakland is a diverse, play-based community preschool. For over 70 years, families have joined our community through the PACT (Parents And Children Together) program and preschool programs. We began in 1952 on Broadway in downtown Oakland. In 1984, our school moved to a little yellow house in the Adams Point neighborhood.

At Broadway Children’s School, our programs reflect the belief that every child is unique and special, and we nurture and encourage that sense of individuality so that each child will develop within his or her own framework.

With this approach and by providing an exciting, creative environment, our goal is to help each child develop competency in all aspects of his or her person: in the social, emotional, intellectual, creative selves that make the whole child.

Programs

We offer flexible scheduling for preschool for 3 to 5-year-olds (up to 5 days per week, 8:45-3:30) and a Tu/Th morning toddler program.
